She was personally picked by Nick Cave as support for his European tour and also recorded together with him. Hailing from Brooklyn, Shilpa Ray's unique approach blends DIY punk and experimental sounds with deep, caustic and socially engaged lyrics, a dark rock soul that fuses with an Indian Harmonium and her powerful and biting voice. Her music has been compared to the likes of Blondie, The Cramps, Patty Smith bringing on stage an enthralling live show.
